However, if this little boy doesn't pan out, there may be a little girl in our horizon. We heard a couple weeks ago about a 19 year old, Tiffany, who is expecting and wanting to make an adoption plan, but the individual who told us about her knows about Claire, so she said she'd hold off on saying or doing anything with her until we knew one way or another. Tiffany is 20-21 weeks along with what they think is a girl, and is due in May sometime. She had an ultrasound a couple days ago and our friend told her to take the pictures home and sleep on them to think about what she wanted to do. She looked at them for a moment and handed them back to her saying, no, she had made her decision. She also wants an adoptive family who hasn't yet had the opportunity to be parents. Our friend sees her on a weekly basis to make sure she is getting all the necessary nutrients and just touch base with her. On February 1st things will begin to move forward one way or another for her. She will begin to look at the 2 families our friend knows (us and another couple with a 1 1/2 year old) and will meet with them. They will also at that time get in touch with the birthdad to start pursuing his consent signature.
So, if nothing else it is nice to know that there is another door open for us if Claire ends up parenting. Please continue to pray for her and her family. Their worlds must be turned upside-down right now, unsure of what the future holds. We are confident that God's will will be done and that he will give wisdom and peace to whomever this little ones parents are to be. We serve an amazing God!
"The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace." Psalm 29:11
